About Sub-meters

Overview

The Company entered the sub-metering business in August 2008 with the purchase of Stratacon Inc. (Stratacon), a licensed sub-metering provider. In October 2010, the Company approximately doubled its sub-metering business by also acquiring Enbridge Electric Connections Inc., now as EnerCare Connections Inc. (EnerCare Connections).

The two businesses are complementary, as EnerCare Connections' customer base is predominantly in the new and retro-fit condominium market segments, while Stratacon's core market focus is in the retro-fit rental apartment sector.

Sub-meters

As part of its intelligent solutions package, EnerCare offers sub-metering and remote measurement of electricity, heat and water in multi-unit condominium complexes and apartment buildings. Our sub-metering solutions provide tenants with information and understanding that enables them to conserve energy and save money.

Installation and maintenance of our equipment requires minimal effort for landlords and property managers and our sub-meters are rented to customers under long term contracts.

We provide clients with a no capital cost approach to conserving electricity in multi-residential buildings. Our solutions deliver accurate allocation of electricity costs between individual consumers. We also provide individual consumers with detailed information about their electricity consumption which enables them to understand, monitor and conserve energy.
